English Drama Workshop - Not a two-bit part
This is an English drama workshop offers the opportunity for children and youngsters to improve their English in a truly creative environment during the summer break.
Drama contributes to the quality of participants' writing by providing opportunities for them to develop and order their ideas through playing roles and improvising scenes in various settings. Taking part in drama activities can increase children's confidence, communication skills and ability to work in a team and it is these soft skills that can help children to handle social and emotional challenges of their life; it helps them resist pressure from their peers to take part in risky behaviour.
It also allows young people to hook their conversations onto the fictional scenarios without feeling embarrassed or pressured to talk about their own or their peers' experiences.
All participants will gain knowledge, skills and understanding associated with the artistic practice of drama. Participants should be able to adopt, create and sustain a range of roles, responding appropriately to others in role. They should have opportunities to improvise, devise and script drama for a range of audiences, as well as to rehearse, refine, share and respond thoughtfully to drama and theatre performances.
This is an ideal course for participants interested in drama; participants will be inspired to explore and cultivate their creative talent through various activities in the workshop.
Open to students entering primary 4 to secondary 1-5
